  • Myopia, or Shortsightedness, is now an epidemic. It is predicted that 50% of the world's population will be myopic by the year 2050. Myopia can be progressive and can increase the chances of developing many eye diseases. Fortunately, there are now many treatment options available to prevent, or slow, the rate of progression of myopia from a young age.

Ortho-Keratology is an excellent treatment option available to prevent, or slow, the rate of progression of myopia in patients of all ages. Ortho-Keratology involves wearing a rigid contact lens while you sleep to temporarily reshape your cornea to correct myopia, very much like how a tooth retainer straightens teeth. Doug Grimson, himself, has been wearing Ortho-Keratology lenses since 2011 and has not changed in prescription since the commencement of the treatment.
