Douglas Grimson
B. Optom (Hons), B. Sc (UNSW). Therapeutically endorsed.
Doug grew up in Sylvania and after graduating in 2010 from UNSW with first class honours, he spent the first half of his career practicing down the South Coast of NSW. There he gained experience in a broad range of skills including Orthokeratology, Myopia Control, Keratoconus, Ocular Disease Co-Management, and Children’s Vision. Doug then returned to the Sutherland Shire to open his own practice and looks forward to settling in for the rest of his career. Outside of Optometry, Doug enjoys being active and loves all sports, particularly cricket, rugby, snow skiing, and surf skiing.
Emilie Ross
B. Optom (Hons), B. Sc (UNSW). Therapeutically endorsed.
Emilie is a shire local, growing up and completing schooling in Caringbah. She graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Optometry with honours. She was recipient of the Judy Glover scholarship which saw her participate in rural vision care in Indigenous communities. She subsequently spent her early years of clinical practice in regional NSW, managing complex eye conditions. Emilie now divides her time between our practice and as a clinical supervisor at the University of New South Wales. She is qualified to prescribe ophthalmic medicines. Emilie enjoys spending her time outdoors whether it be at the beach or bushwalking and loves to travel.
Supporting Staff
Our dispensing and office team includes Bronwyn, Anna, Jo and Dylan. Bronwyn is a qualified Optical Dispenser with over 30 years' experience with exceptional knowledge on frames and the latest lens technology. Anna and Jo are our Optical Assistants who manage the front desk and assist with frame and lens selection. Anna and Jo are currently studying Optical Dispensing Cert IV to also become qualified Optical Dispensers. Dylan is a medical student currently training to be a doctor. All our staff are Sutherland Shire locals.
